A strategically important acquisition for Faerch

In April 2015, Faerch bolstered its position in the UK market with the acquisition of Anson Packaging.  In November of that same year, Faerch continued its expansion in the European market with the acquisition of Sealed Air’s Food Tray Business units in England and Spain. The two acquisitions have doubled Faerch’s volume, and the integration of the factories in Poole and Buñol is well underway.

“The acquisition is strategically important, as we have long sought to further expand our coverage in southern Europe through local production. The fact that we have been able to combine this with access to the strength of the CRYOVAC® Darfresh® On Tray* product is a big win for Faerch. We are carrying out the integration with the utmost focus on the overall customer experience.

The customer is at the centre of everything we do, while ensuring the continuation of our best-practice manufacturing, quality, and innovation processes developed over many years. At Faerch, we say what we are going to do – and then we do it. This builds trust in our customers and is the foundation we are known for. I am certain that our new customers in southern Europe will quickly discover this as well,” says Lars Gade Hansen, CEO of Faerch.

Customer experience in focus

Sealed Air is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of plastic packaging for foods, particularly in the area of skin packaging, where the company is a market leader. The Spanish acquisition strengthens Faerch’s product range, and geographic reach.

“With the production unit in Spain, we are now even closer to our customers in southern Europe. We offer the same high quality as always, and our closer manufacturing location will enhance the overall customer experience; always a key priority of ours,” says Thomas Trang, Director of Group Strategy & Commercial Affairs at Faerch.

Lars Gade Hansen also lauds the latest acquisition:

“Faerch is extremely pleased with the incorporation of the European Sealed Air tray unit into the Faerch Group. The unit will contribute market leading products in fresh meat, as well as cold foods and snacks – products that are fully aligned with today’s trend for transparency. The acquisition will help us maintain our position as the leading European manufacturer of plastic packaging for the global food industry,” he says.
